BBC Apprentice star Neil Clough and former soldier and motivational speaker Andy Reid are heading up a stellar cast of business speakers, exhibitors and guests at the Wigan Business Expo Twenty14 on 10th October 2014 at the DW Stadium Wigan.
Organised by Wigan Council and partnered by the Greater Manchester Business Growth Hub, the Expo is free to attend and is the largest business to business event to take place in the North West this year.
The Business Growth Hub helps ambitious companies and business people in Greater Manchester to realise their growth potential by accessing the right support and services to meet their needs. It offers a range of practical services, from access to finance and business-to-business networking to accessing experienced mentors.
Corporal Andy Reid was an ordinary soldier, when, on 13th October 2009 he stepped on an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) in Helmand Province, Afghanistan and lost both legs and his right arm in the explosion. His story of recovery can only be described as remarkable and Andy will be telling his motivational and inspirational story at the Expo.
Neil Clough was a 2013 BBC Apprentice Finalist and will be speaking about his experiences making the final five in The Apprentice, smashing sales targets and finding a silver lining in even the most difficult and demanding situations.
The Expo will feature an inspiring array of exhibitors, seminars and workshops throughout the day including:
- 131 exhibitor stands in the Fleet Dynamic, Hughes Brothers and Media College exhibition lounges
- A dedicated Business Growth Hub Meet the Experts area in the Hughes Brothers lounge and a series of workshops delivered by Access to Finance, UKTI, the Business Growth Hub Digital Growth team and ENWORKS
- An inspiring and motivational seminar programme covering all areas of business growth including talks from Neil Clough, Andy Reid and international sales presenter Andy Preston
- Interactive Meet the Buyer workshops focusing on how small and medium sized businesses can secure public sector contracts.
A showcase from Halliwell Jones BMW of BMW cars including the i8 hybrid supercar and BCC Citroen Wigan will be showcasing their range of light commercial vehicles.
Almost 1,300 visitors from across the UK and beyond attended last year's event and a similar number are expected to attend again this year, if not more. Business delegates are now invited to register at www.wiganbusinessexpo.co.uk.
